We never start from nothing.

Each form carries its own irregularities, like the marks of a history written over time.

Some traces are deep. Others are almost erased. Yet, all of them contribute to the construction of the whole.

Heritage evokes what we receive, what we transform, and what we choose, in our turn, to leave behind.

What precedes us becomes a part of what we pass on.
