Collection: Peaks

There are landscapes we look at.
And others that stay within us.

SOMMETS was born from our fascination with the mountains.

Their lines, their textures, their silences. Their ability to change completely under different light, while remaining still.

We do not seek to faithfully reproduce a landscape. We keep a feeling, a light, a color, sometimes just a ridgeline.

The material worked with a palette knife builds the textures and intentionally preserves the trace of the gesture. Some summits emerge from the darkness, streaked with gold. Others appear under deeply colored skies.

Each work then becomes our interpretation of a landscape, somewhere between what we have seen and what we have kept from it.

SOMMETS speaks of these motionless giants that traverse time and remind us, when we stand before them, how small we are.

Textures.
Silences.
Lights.

The mountain remains. We are only passing through.
